It Pays To Get Latest Building Materials Updates through Magazines!

It pays to be in sync with the new developments and changes in the building and construction industries, to stay in the loop, and have a good experience. Building Material Magazines--like Building Material Reporter (BMR)—are an excellent source of Building Materials Updates for all stakeholders, including architects and building contractors, not to mention house owners.

The building or construction industry is one of the oldest known industries in the world. From a single floor building to 160-floor building (Burj Khalifa), over the years, much water has indeed flown down the Ganges, (or should we say the Thames?). From the construction materials to the construction techniques--there undeniably has been a drastic change.

These days, the environment angle is also a part of the construction and building mix. Most concerned builders and engineers and customers have started using and preferring eco-friendly and light-weight Building materials

For example, at the present, people are preferring ash bricks over the common bulky mud bricks as the former are not only comparatively lighter in weight these are also stronger, more durable, and more suitable for the modern building structures.

Today, the use of modern technology in the construction business has also made the entire building and construction process less time-consuming and less cumbersome. The tastes and designing trends have also changed. Functional yet aesthetic designs are being preferred by most consumers.

Against this backdrop, it has become very critical for the professionals and other interested and involved parties to be in the loop and know all that’s essential in the business, to create and get products that are safer, cheaper, and more stylish, not to mention more environment-friendly.

Tata Steel Supplies slag to BRO for Arunachal roads

Tata Steel--the Indian multinational steel-making company that comes under the umbrella of the much renowned and much respected Tata Group--has supplied 1,200 tonnes of steel slag to the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), for the purpose of road construction in the north eastern Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh.

Under the Project Arunank, established way back in 2008, the BRO is carrying-out the construction and maintenance of roads in the Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

In a statement, Tata Steel was quoted as saying that it has “dispatched the first ever consignment of Tata Aggreto, the company’s branded steel slag aggregates” to BRO from the company’s Jamshedpur plant.

Reportedly, Union Minister of Science and Technology Jitendra Singh virtually flagged off the rakes of Tata Aggreto and Tata Nirman steel slag aggregates.

Meanwhile, Tata Steel vice president, iron making, Uttam Singh was quoted as saying “We are committed to deliver sustainable products having minimal ecological footprint by adopting newer technologies and developing new products and applications. We are happy to note that BRO, under Arunank Division, in association with CRRI, will be constructing roads in Arunachal Pradesh”.

Slag is a by-product of steel manufacturing. This by-product of smelting ores and used metals, may be broadly classified as ferrous, ferroalloy or non-ferrous/base metals.  The use of this highly useful material in road construction not only boosts durability but also helps in cutting down the overall budget of construction and building.
